Attain HSK Advanced Level A, B, or C

HSK Advanced Practice is designed to prepare learners to take the HSK Advanced Level and attain Advanced Certificate Level A, B, or C (overall HSK Level 11, 10, or 9, respectively).

What you can say or do after studying this course:

After attaining a Certificate of HSK Advanced, you will have the following opportunities:

  • Get a job requiring advanced competence in Chinese (certifies you as being qualified to undertake ordinary work requiring Chinese to communicate)
  • Be a qualified translator at an intermediate-level.
  • Get a graduate degree from a college or university in China
  • Be exempt from taking certain Chinese courses

After this class, you'll be able to easily understand all types of news from Chinese newspapers, radio and television. You can do practical work using Chinese at a professional level such as teaching, research, trade, and diplomacy.

You'll impress others with your command of standard Chinese by eloquently using diverse language, wisely using appropriate speech, and easily switching styles depending on your audience.

You'll be able to employ a deep understanding and ability of the cultural background and connotation of words to communicate effectively.

You'll also more naturally have your initial ideas and thought process carried out completely in Chinese.

Who should take this course:

For students who have completed up through Advanced Common Chinese Phrases, or equivalently, already have a basic foundation that covers 5000-8000 basic Chinese words included within Level A, B, C, and D in the HSK Vocabulary and Grammar Outlines.

  • Master Chinese pronunciation and Romanization system: pinyin, initials, finals, tones, neutral tone, “er” sound, tone of voice, and emphasis of speech
  • Master 2905 Chinese characters from Level A, B, C, and D of HSK Vocabulary
  • Master 8822 vocabulary words from Level A, B, C, and D of HSK Vocabulary
  • Master 1168 grammar rules from Level A, B, C, and D of HSK Grammar
