Teacher
GuavaTalk understands that an appropriate match between teacher and student is important to quality learning, and we will try our best to honor requests for particular teachers; unfortunately, due to operational constraints, we cannot guarantee a particular teacher for a particular student.
GuavaTalk believes that a stable learning environment promotes the best learning. There are times when it may be necessary to change a student’s teacher during the course of study; however, we will do so only when necessary and in the least obtrusive manner possible.
If a teacher change is necessary, we will notify the student as soon as possible.
Substitute Teacher
In the event a teacher is unable to attend class, it is GuavaTalk's policy to provide a substitute teacher to teach class.
If no substitute teacher is available, GuavaTalk will contact the student as soon as possible to reschedule the class. The contact will usually take place in the form of an e-mail.
Class Sessions
All class sessions are 50 minutes in length. Even when a student takes class sessions consecutively (for example, a 9:00 AM followed by a 10:00 AM class), a 10 minute break will occur after every 50 minutes of teaching.
If a student is taking one and a half sessions (for example, from 9:00 AM to 10:30AM), there will be 80 minutes of class time, followed by a 10 minute break.
Tuition Policy
Payment Terms
We ask that students pay their tuition in full at least 24 hours before the first class.
An invoice via PayPal or other payment services will be sent to each student within 24 hours of registration.
Tuition Changes
GuavaTalk strives to keep tuition as stable as possible for our students; however, the price of tuition will periodically need to be adjusted. GuavaTalk reserves the right to change the price of tuition without notice.
Class Validity
Classes are valid for 1 month after the scheduled final day of class. Any make-up classes must be used within this period of time.
For example: If a student signs up for 50 class sessions, taking 10 sessions a week (Monday-Friday), and starts on July 1, 2008, his classes will still be valid for one month after the scheduled 5 week class period has ended (in this case, September 5, 2008).
Classes purchased are non-transferable to any other party.
Money Back Guarantee/Refund Policy
Money Back Guarantee
Within the first 5 class sessions or first 14 days (for a new student), whichever comes first, the student may choose to receive his tuition money back should he not be satisfied with the program.
Refund Policy
After this 5 class session/14-day money back guarantee period, GuavaTalk will not issue refunds should a student choose to withdraw from his coursework.
Attendance Policy
Scheduling
We will do our best to accommodate a student's preferred class time; if for some reason we cannot honor this time, we will contact the student immediately to discuss other available class times.
Class scheduling and/or rescheduling must be done through contacting customer service directly at service@guavatalk.com. Requests made to teachers are not considered valid.
Tardiness
We urge students to be in their online classroom on time as teachers will be unable to make-up time missed due to tardiness. Please e-mail service@guavatalk.com immediately if class time is lost due to teacher tardiness.
Absences
If a student needs to miss a class, we ask that he contact us through service@guavatalk.com at least 24 hours in advance of the class to be missed. Less than 24 hour notice will unfortunately result in the loss of a make-up class.
Group classes unfortunately cannot be made-up by an individual student.
We ask that students schedule make-up classes with service@guavatalk.com.
Customer Service
We regard any complaint or concern about a teacher or a service-related issue as a serious matter. Students should feel free to e-mail service@guavatalk.com as soon as an issue arises, and the customer service manager will work with our staff to resolve the issue.
