To the GuavaTalk Management Team, accountability means we need to help each and every one of our customers achieve their goals, or we will have failed. So how do we do this?
Proficiency Test
Each student takes the GuavaTalk proficiency test when they join GuavaTalk's online Chinese school. This test measures the student's proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening to help us assess his language baseline and create goals to meet his exact needs.
Goal-Setting
Each student’s personal learning advocate will work with the student to set several specific quantitative or qualitative goals in reading, writing, speaking, and/or listening as well as in their particular areas of interest. These goals will be very specific and have timelines attached. The goals will be reviewed regularly with the student, and curriculum and study plans will be adjusted according to progress against these goals
Teacher Compensation
Our teachers are compensated in part based on student progress against their goals and their ability to deliver against the specific goals and timelines set for each student. Moreover, we monitor teachers at least 2x per month and evaluate their performance against a specific quality scorecard. Their compensation is also heavily tied to their performance against these quality metrics.
